Reality Joke 5 - Thai Curry.

I think this happened back in 2000. Christina and I went to HK that summer and we went to a thai resturant. Conversation are below:

We: Is the curry spicy? Christina cannot handle spicy food at ALL.

Waitress: Of course not, even kids can handle our curry.

We: Ok, we will have one curry chicken then.

Conclusion
Only thailand kids can handle that curry :)

Baby Zoe and 6.5 hours = celebration

As many of you already knew, chris and I were really tired because we had to wake up every 3 hours to feed our baby zoe. As of Dec 29(85 days old), zoe hold two world records within our own family. Without a pacifier, she can now sleep 6.5 hours through the night. With a pacifier, she can sleep 9 hours through the night. We thank GOD for helping zoe to sleep 6.5 hours as this is really helping chris and I to recover.

Can't really express our JOY and EXCITEMENT when we see Zoe finally smile. It sure is sweet. She was 68 days old when we video this.

A friend of mine asked me why we are naming this BLOG to "斯斯然上雅虎的家庭", do we really like to YAHOO? My answer is simple, we are trying to use each of our chinese names to make a phase that make sense. If you have a better suggestion, please let us know.

Christina's first language is not cantonese and she has been learning cantonese by watching TV extensively. However, she always mixes up what she have heard and this post is to keep track of this funny terms.

Reality Joke 4 - Your call is important to us.

One day, my daddy told me his personal experience on dealing with one of the big phone company in town. Here is the details:

Dad called into the 1-800 number and have been waiting for a long time:

Phone company: Your call is very important to us, please do not hang up, blah blah blah.......
My dad (yelling at the system): How important?
CSR(suddenly transferred to a real person): Good morning Sir, my name is blah blah, what can I help you today?

Ever since then, my dad kept yelling at those system voices whenever he called 1-800 as he thinks that someone is actually listenly to the customers and once they identified that you are angry, you will get moved up the queue. :)

Reality Joke 3 - Is Zoe a 千金 or 公主

Back to the time when Christina was still pregnant, one old women (popo) asked me what gender is my newborn. This is the dialogue:

Popo: What are you having? A 千金 or 公主?
Me (thinking in mind): I don't think with our current wealth, I can call Zoe as 公主, so.....
ME: We are having a 千金.
Popo: Good, 公主 is good, 千金 is good too.
Me (thinking): I think 公主 is better than 千金 la.
Me: Oh yeah..........., you are right
Popo: Like your mother, having two 公主 is very fortunate.
Me (thinking): What the heck are you talking about, my mother only have 2 sons ja wor!!!

As many of you know, we have a joke book which keeps track of our real life jokes. And here is one:

One day christina went to her hairstylist and ask for a new hair style and here is the conversation.

Stylist: What new look you want?
Chris: I want to 留長.
Stylist: Sure, no problem la.

At the end, christina got a new look, which looks like hairstyle of 劉翔.

Tummy Time = good or bad?

Chris said it's time for zoe to start learning tummy time. However, zoe doesn't like it very much.

I was playing with christina's P&S camera while I was feeding zoe. I made a mistakes and setting the camera to shoot at 16:9 mode. However, I found that zoe looks quite funny with those 16:9 mode.

Our friend was trying to surpise his wife once again this year with a surprise b-day party. It ends up failing because his wife is so smart and his plan was soooooooo obvious. Anyways, all of us had a good nite with lots of laugh and conversations. Hehe, it was also my first time seeing another friend's g-friend and I am sooooo happy for them as well. And of course, I am not going to post her picture online as I don't want to get sued. :)

As many of you overseas friends and relatives requested, here are some video of little Zoe. Just a quick update for you, she is now 6 lb 8 oz as per our last checkup.

Documents for a child in Ontario

This post is to remind/keep track of what we have done for Zoe in terms of all the legal document. I hope this will be helpful for any parents to be.
Please let me know if we have missed anything.

1 - Health Card
We obtained this temp health card from our hospital. The nurse told us that the official one should arrived within the next 2 weeks.

2 - Registering Zoe, getting a birth certificate, and obtaining a SIN (3 STEPS in one).
Before we leave the hospital, we received a package from them, the package contained a form called "Statement of Live Birth". One should fills this form out within the 30 days of any child's birth. However, based on my search from internet, we would registered Zoe online instead of filling this form.
- Registering a child costs $25.00
- Getting a birth certificate costs $25 for a short version and $35 for a long version. Since we are allow to apply for one version ONLY, we opt for the long version(even tho I don't know the diff).
- Getting a SIN is FREE!!!!!!

Zoe got lots of stuff (both new and used) from friends and relatives. I got inspired to take this pic from those crazy HK girls which loves to shop at Japan and they usually took a pic of what they have brought. If you have time, you can try to look for your gift :)

Everyone got their FIRST time!!!

Basically Zoe's diaper leaked and while we are looking at each other, I felt some wetness on my pants. I wasn't paying attention as I thought it was Zoe's sweat since we are playing as well. About 5 mins ago, even my leg can feel the sweat and I know, shoot, this is real bad.

I am just wondering how strange the feeling of becoming a father can be, I felt that I am exploring my life even when someone actually shxx on me. Oh well, hopefully this is the first and the last time.

27 days to go

Another 27 days to go, I have been counting down since 2xx days and finally it is less than a month before I can met Zoe. I am very excited. For the past couple months christina and I have experienced a lot(mostly becasue of the car accident). We basically put faith in GOD for Zoe's health.

We are going to see our OB on Sept 22 and we will see if we need to induce her or not. Whatever the decision and date it ends up, we have faith in GOD that he has already picked the best option for our Zoe.

And holy molly, I set this blog up since March 28 and I havn't entered anything since, I guess this proves that I am a very implusive person :)

Introduction about this blog

Today is March 28. Yesterday was Christina's b-day. I suddenly have an urge to start a blog to record down the journey of our feelings during throughout the expecting period of our first child. I am a very impulse person and therefore, I started this blog immediately.

According to our own non-scientific calculations, our first child will be born on 18 Oct, 2008. Still another 204 days to go.
